To borrow a term relegated to the engineered marketing world called “growth hacking”, I will begin this article. In that realm, growth hackers use the best means necessary (and at the lowest possible cost) to ensure growth of their business entity. Instead of using traditional means to grow a business, the growth hacker wants to know what works and what doesn’t work. They test every single variable until their marketing enables their business to spread to every single person within their target market.
While not the same as business, each of us can use the same type of thinking to help you to grow. When we travel the road of our life, we will come across bumps, holes, cracks and the like. We will make mistakes. The growth hacker makes mistakes too. The difference between a growth hacker and the traditionalist is that the growth hacker knows what works and what doesn’t work by analyzing the data in every single campaign. They test and test and test to find the best.
When growth hacking your life, it is important to test by engaging a natural plan. The only way to find out what works for you is to take action steps each day. That means to have an actionable plan towards any goals you may have. Additionally, you also need to become more self-aware. Whatever actions you take in your life, you need to discover through self-awareness what works specifically for you.
Use a journal to do this. Journaling in this way helps you to understand you much better. This for your emotions, your body and your mindset. When you take daily actions, through journaling, you will learn whether a certain response you had was effective or not. You will then be able to make adjustments (and more effective responses). And you also won’t be making the same mistakes over and over again.
This works in all areas of your life. You can growth hack your self-confidence. You can growth hack your public speaking abilities. You can growth hack your level of fitness. You can growth hack your health. You can growth hack how you learn. You can growth hack your relationships. And yes, you can growth hack your business.
The most important thing is to find out what works for in the areas where you want and need it in your life.
Some call growth hacking your “life hacking.” Whatever you want to call it, it’s effective. By doing this, you will also learn what other tools you will need to make your life more effective. Not only will you not be reliant on others telling you that you should go to this school or learn this, you will know exactly what you’ll need for you.
I like the fact that there are many online schools and educational courses suited for those that are hacking their life to be more effective. Udemy is a great place to start your learning process, though, not the only place. You will discover for yourself what you’ll need. Just don’t keep making the same mistakes over and over. Growth hack your life starting today!
