There is a quote by Augustine of Hippo who lived in the 4th century that “The truth is like a lion; you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself.” Recent events show that nearly 1700 years later, this still applies.
The Twitter files, Hancock tapes, FOI information from the Victorian government and now testimony to congress by former Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Dr Robert Redfield shows that truth will eventually come out and that it does indeed not need defending. That said, in my view it would benefit from any assistance to spread it.
Many are understandably looking forwards and are completely over Covid. However, it remains vital that the lessons are learned and that we are all vigilant for when attempts are made in the future to introduce lockdowns or mandates without any actual scientific basis.
The Victorian FOI information showed that the premier was using taxpayer money to get polling advice about decisions. Essentially follow the political science. It may or may not be co-incidental that ongoing legal efforts to stop the information being made public stopped after the state election.
The Hancock tapes in the UK reveal that fear was whipped up in a deliberate attempt to get better acceptance of harsh measures. Again “the science” is political not medical. Big tech stands accused and now guilty of suppressing any questioning of the narrative. Apart from banning certain people, algorithms were designed to make certain views more prevalent whilst others were shadow banned.
What went on at Twitter would pale into significance against what went on at Facebook and Google. In particular, Google or entities associated with it and /or its directors were allegedly investors in mRNA vaccines. Thus far I am yet to see it denied. This is not wrong but needed to be declared. For reasons unclear to me, the mainstream media have all but ignored the Twitter files. Bari Weiss founder of The Free Press has done an excellent job covering this as has Matt Tabi
The big one though is the testimony by Redfield who told congress there was ‘No Doubt’ American Tax Dollars Funded Gain-of-Function Research at Wuhan Lab”. The Epoch Times reports.
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) asked the former CDC official whether it was likely that “American tax dollars funded the gain-of-function research that created this virus?” referring to the hypothesis that the pathogen behind COVID-19 leaked from a lab in Wuhan.
“I think there’s no doubt that NIH was funding gain-of-function research,” Redfield replied, adding that he believes funding came from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal agencies.
This could explain why Fauci and others went to extraordinary lengths to discredit the lab leak theory rather than conduct an inquiry into the origins of the virus with all theories being considered equally on their merits.
Redfield stated “Even given the information that’s surfaced in the three years since the COVID-19 pandemic began, some have contended that there is really no point in investigating the origins of this virus. I strongly disagree. There is a global need to know what we are dealing with in COVID-19 virus because it affects how we approach the problem to try to prevent the next pandemic”.
He added that, because there’s evidence to support the lab leak theory and since gain-of-function research was being carried out on coronaviruses at the Wuhan lab, there should be a halt to gain-of-function experiments. I agree 100%.
Here is some additional testimony “In Sept. 2019, three things happened in that lab. One is they deleted the sequences. Highly irregular, researchers don’t like to do that. The second thing is they changed the command and control from civilian to military. Highly unusual. The third, which is very telling, is they let a contractor redo the ventilation system in that laboratory. Clearly, there was strong evidence that a significant event happened in that laboratory in September.”
In interviews Redfield describes how he was shut out of internal CDC discussions by the coterie for daring to question the narrative. Funny that!
We have also seen the Cochrane Collaboration review mask usage and find no evidence that mask mandates made any difference. Under extreme pressure from the usual suspects Cochrane was forced to add a qualifying statement saying that whilst there was no evidence to show they worked, there was none to say they didn’t. Of course you cannot prove a negative. If there is no strong evidence after the widespread introduction of mask mandates in multiple jurisdictions for extended periods of time that they were effective, – you can draw your own conclusions.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Thakur has compiled a list of 18 “conspiracy theories” that have become “conspiracy facts”. I would recommend reading them.
The lion is out of the cage. It is going to get increasingly interesting. Those who lied and /or acted in bad faith to cover their rear ends will ultimately be found out and hopefully brought to account.
